There will be the chance to visit the house where Shakespeare was born (admission is extra charge) and you can also visit the church to see where he is buried. This is a great opportunity to visit this beautiful place on the best weekend of the year.
Every year a unique event takes place in Stratford-upon- Avon to mark the birth of the world’s greatest playwright. The Birthday Celebrations are a tradition going back nearly 200 years and are held on the weekend closest to William Shakespeare’s birthday on April 23.
Festivities to celebrate Shakespeare's birthday are held throughout the day. On arrival in the city your guide will take you on a walking tour around Stratford learning about the place and Shakespeare himself, seeing the locations important to him plus the famous theatres and beautiful riverside areas. At the end of the walking tour you will finish near the Birthplace and you can as an optional extra go inside to see where he lived when a young boy.
