Tour Details:

Welcome on a student tour to Stratford Upon Avon, home of one of the greatest writers that ever lived - Shakespeare.

Stratford-Upon-Avon is the home town of William Shakespeare. This weekend sees his birthday celebrations with parades and street entertainment from musicians and actors from around the world including Spain, Iraq and China. There will be the chance to visit the house where Shakespeare was born (admission is extra charge) and you can also visit the church to see where he is buried. This is a great opportunity to visit this beautiful place on the best weekend of the year.

Every year a unique event takes place in Stratford-upon- Avon to mark the birth of the world’s greatest playwright. The Birthday Celebrations are a tradition going back nearly 200 years and are held on the weekend closest to William Shakespeare’s birthday on April 23.

Parades will start about 10.30am so departure must be on time (so please do not be late). On arrival in the city your guide will take you to a good place to watch the street parade go past then after lunch you can meet again to go on a walking tour around Stratford learning about the place and Shakespeare himself, seeing the locations important to him plus the famous theatres and beautiful riverside areas. At the end of the walking tour you will finish near the Birthplace and you can as an optional extra go inside to see where he lived when a young boy.
