Saturday morning to Sunday evening

With its rich ancient history, atmosphere and many activities, York is the perfect place for a weekend visit.

It’s famous for its stunning architecture, old cobbled streets, York Minster Cathedral and huge variety of visitor attractions. It also offers museums, historic buildings, many shops, street entertainers and lovely restaurants within the city walls.

Saturday:
Early morning departure from the south of England by coach, you will arrive early afternoon in York and have time to enjoy the sights and visit the Cathedral before some free time for the shops and museums.

Accommodation Saturday night will be outside the city of York in a 3 star hotel which includes breakfast on Sunday morning.

Sunday:  Whitby & The North Yorkshire Moors
After breakfast you can join our tour heading north into the Yorkshire Moors, (an designated area of outstanding natural beauty). We will begin the day with a stop in the small village of Goathsland, which has been used as a film set for a number of TV shows and movies. Goathsland station was used in the first Harry Potter film for the arrival of the "Hogwarts Express". From here you will have the opportunity to take the historic steam train to Whitby (extra cost for train) or continue with our coach to the picturesque fishing village of Whitby, dominated by Whitby Abbey, the inspiration for Bram Stoaker's "Dracula" books.

Please note there is an extra charge payable on the day for the steam train which is subject to availability and timetable schedules.
