Welcome on a student tour to Portsmouth & Ryde, Isle of Wight

Travel by train to the south coast city of Portsmouth and visit Historic dockyard, home of the "Victory" , Admiral Lord Nelson's flagship from the battle of Trafalgar;  The Mary Rose and HMS Warrior.    You can purchase a ticket to visit the Historic ships on arrival and also get free admission to the maritime Museum.    

You will also have the opportunity to visit Gunwhaf Quay's waterside restaurants and outlet shops and take the elevator to the top of the Spinnaker tower for fabulous views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight.

In the afternoon we will take the boat from Portsmouth over to the Ryde on the Isle of Wight and you can spend some time exploring the Victoria seaside resort before returning back to the mainland and your home destination.

Portsmouth

Portsmouth is a very old historic city on the south coast of England and has been the home of the Royal Navy for over 500 years. On arrival in Portsmouth your guide will show you some of the oldest parts of the city along with some of the newest. Your guide will take you to the old historic dockyard and tell you about some of the historic ships that you can see, entrance to the ships is not included. After the dock yard you will see one of the newest structures in the city, the Spinnaker Tower which is 550 feet tall.

Ryde, Isle of Wight

This small island off the south coast of England is a beautiful place to visit. After a short ferry journey to Ryde, Isle of Wight you will have a opportunity to explore this seaside city. Ryde is the largest town on the Isle of Wight and it has a well established set of shopping streets with some great attractions. Ryde also has an award-winning beach which at low-tide opens up to be the largest stretch of golden sands on the Isle of Wight, making it perfect for beach sports and activities, or just simply relaxing in a deckchair!
