Morning departure by coach to North Wales. We will be staying in one of the coastal towns in North Wales, before we head to our hotel for the night we will explore one of the great castles in the area, Conwy Castle. It was built by Edward I in the 13th century to protect his new kingdom of Wales and to make sure the locals didn’t rise up against his rule. In the evening we will make our way to the hotel for check in, you will also be able to enjoy the local hospitality.
We will begin the day with a trip up the Great Orme to the visitor centre and view point offering spectacular views of the Welsh coast and the mountains of Snowdonia. The summit is served by a tram railway as well as a cable car. We will then contibnue into the heart of Snowdonia National park, and weather permitting have the opportunity to walk within this stunning scenery. From Llanberis at the base of Mount Snowdon you can take the Mountain railway (seasonal and subject to weather) £40 - £50 per person, advanced booking required. You will also have the opportunity to visit the Slate mining museum (free admission).
In the afternoon we will make a stop in the picturesque village of Bewts y Coed, a thriving Welsh community and the main area for shops, restaurants and accommodation in the Snowdon area. From here we begin our journey back into England. Your arrival back in your town of departure will be late evening.
